Bellevue Cycle

Bellevue Cycle

This is a 12? x 24? piece I did late last summer and entered in the Fall 2007 Untitled Nashville show, “Sweet Tea.” The past few years, I’ve tended to do paintings of local architecture, and this fits squarely into that category. It’s not famous or anything, but certainly well-known to those who travel on Charlotte Pike between West Meade and Bellevue, like myself. Since the painting is a bit dark, it was a tricky to shoot and color-correct. The varnish in the glazes don’t help either. I’m still not 100% satisfied with it, but I’m more than happy with the painting. I just may have to get it re-shot by someone more expert than I.
